My favs tend to be those that make your heart expand! Or leave a lump in your throat... I'll be frank, I have an overappreciation of the bizarre and an underappreciation of plot. I'm confused by juxtapositions and things I don't understand (about people, not about computers Ray!) so those tend to intrigue me more (just like food). But my taste has often been denigrated (here, in Westwood specifically but not so much among my other friends who, alas!, are farther away) to the category of "snobby" and on more than one occasion, I feel awkward selecting movies because I get so much flack for my taste.

So here is a list below of three categories: want to see, have seen and can watch a billion times, and am a little interested, but it's not imperative. Are you interested in any that are below? Let's coordinate!

Warning: I don't like chatter during my movies. Since most of my movies are nuance-driven not plot-driven, chatting can ruin it for me. I'm sorry. (actually, NOT SORRY, you're ruining *my* movie). Quiet expressions of approval/disapproval are okay though (silent claps, sighs, snorts). Some movies are drivel, and need chatter to be gotten through-- but those movies require half a brain (or none). Usually, my movie picks aren't from that category.

So now that you must think I'm a B*tch with a Capital T... (remember, I am 24 after all, and know what I want and don't want).

Haven't seen, would like to: The Virgin Suicides, Clerks, Midnight Cowboy, Vertigo, Rear Window, Raging Bull, Godfather, Gandhi, Citizen Kane, the Apartment, North by Northwest, Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, Taxi Driver, LA Confidential, Sunshine, the Pianist, Requiem for a Dream, The Red Violin, Doctor Strangelove, Training Day, Days of Wine and Roses, Naughty Marietta, I Was a Male War Bride, The Way We Were, the Kurosawa film that Star Wars is based on, Coyote Ugly.

I've seen, but can watch over and over and over again: Breakfast at Tiffany's, Like Water for Chocolate, Lost in Translation, Seven Samurai, Bonnie and Clyde, Ran, Shawshank Redemption, Amelie, Delicatassen, Gone With the Wind, Now Voyager, American Beauty, Fight Club, The Piano, Amadeus, Life is Beautiful, King of Masks, An Affair to Remember, Guess Who is Coming to Dinner

Eh, can be convined: The Motown documentary, The Hours, "10", Jerry Maguire

Playfulness can often be mistaken for sluttiness or
flirtiness... Flirting is something you enjoy
doing, but you're mostly just about having fun.
You're into partying, and it's seems that
people enjoy your company as much as you enjoy
their's.

What feeling do you represent?
brought to you by Quizilla

Hmmm.... I've never even worn a bikini, nevermind flaunt myself in one. And I'm not really into partying, just groups of people who laugh alot and can hold wicked cool conversations. Is it just me, or is Quizzilla becoming more and more random. Maybe this just wasn't a good quiz for me. I should just buy Vogue and read the horoscopes, that's much better. But this month's horoscope says I'll be stirred into all sorts of trouble. <groan>

I'm at work, I'm doing some fun stuff actually (checking over these focus group transcripts), and I'd really be enjoying myself if I wasn't stuck in my office doing this. My back has started to hurt recently and my wrist has been giving me problems. Yesterday, my shoulder started to develop this semi-sharp pain too. I wish I could give my body different positions to settle into-- that would be possible at home but not in the office.

Lots of things to do tonight-- this whole week actually. <Sigh> If it's not work, it's stuff to do after work. But I'm not going out or having dinner with any friends, so I should be able to finish the things on the laundry list. Yesterday, I was up until 11 PM, printing labels and sorting paperwork... And I was only *almost* done. Tonight, I have to write letters and stuff. Yay! <forced grin>

I'll be really pooped soon!

Thursday, July 17, 2003

sleepy sleepy sleepy.

Tuesday, July 15, 2003

Ahhhh... stys stys stys, got another one in my eye (my other eye). This one is intensely uncomfortable. Must go home to take care of it soon.
